Service FAQs

How much will it cost?

Prices vary between brand and model. Our service price menu can be found in the relevant manufacturers servicing page within the SUSPENSION SERVICING area of the website. If your suspension needs work over and above the cost of a standard service, and extra charges will be incurred, we will contact you to let you know of any charges and to make sure you want the work done.

How long does a service take?

Items booked in for a simple service, provided no complications are encountered requiring extra parts to be ordered, are completed and returned via 24 hour courier on the date they are booked in for. For this to happen we must receive them the day before at the very latest.

If your equipment needs more than a service or complications are encountered requiring extra parts to be ordered it may take a little longer, we will keep you updated on the progress of your service job and get back to you as soon as we can.

Same day servicing is available if booked in advance. You can drop off your item(s) in the morning, go for a coffee or a bike ride and return a few hours later to collect them.

Keeping you riding and your equipment working to the highest performance is our number one aim!

How do I pay?

If your items are being returned via courier then we can take payment by credit/debit card over the phone. If you are collecting your items in person you can use credit/debit card or cash. We also accept payment by BACS but funds must clear before items will be returned (contact us for account details).

What about the warranty on my suspension service?

All our job are covered for 3 months from the date of the service for workmanship. Any items that are found to be faulty due to workmanship will be repaired free of charge. This does not cover misuse, incorrect installation or adjustment of the product, neither does it cover wear and tear or failure of parts or components.

If you think you have a problem with your forks/shocks that we have serviced within the last three months you should contact us to discuss how best to proceed.

How do I get my equipment to Flotec?

You can bring it to Flotec in person or send it to us. The address is Flotec Suspension, The Industrial Shed, St Ninians Wynd, Dunkeld, PH80AT.

First remove your items and clean them - Dirty suspension slows us down and in some cases will incur extra charges. If you would like to drop off your whole bike please contact us first to arrange a day, there are some labour costs for removing and refitting your items. Be sure you box your suspension well to prevent damage in transit. If you are sending a coil shock for service, it will cost you less if you send it without the spring. You can use any courier to send the parcel, or we can arrange for our courier to collect from you. The Royal Mail have been known to destroy suspension items due to them being pressurised so we DON'T recommend the use of The Royal Mail to send suspension/seatposts.

What do I need to include if I am sending you item(s)?

All items must be booked in via the BOOKING FORM. You should include a printed copy of this booking form (you will receive this by email) when sending in, or delivering, your items. If you cannot print the form please include a hand written note with all the information. If we receive any equipment that doesn’t contain any details they will be kept aside until you contact us to provide some information.

Can I drop off my equipment at the weekend?

Our workshop is not open at the weekend but items can be delivered to Progression Bikes next door. YOU MUST fill out the booking form, box or bag your items, include a copy of the booking form in the box or bag and write FOR FLOTEC SUSPENSION on the outside of the package. If you are dropping off a bike please mention this (with details of the bike) when booking it in and secure the printed booking form to the frame. Please check with Progression Bikes directly to ensure they are open before making your journey as opening times may vary from those stated online.

I'm not sure how to arrange a courier, can you collect my items?

Yes we offer a collection service. When you fill out the booking form on the website there is the option to request a collection for a charge of £17. We will arrange for our independent courier to collect your parcel on the date you request and deliver it to us. Box your suspension well to prevent damage in transit, include a copy of the booking form in the box and clearly write our address and your address on the outside of the package. The parcel must be available on the date booked and if the carrier is unable to collect due to incomplete/inaccurate instructions, or the parcel not being available, an extra £17 ‘failed collection charge' will be added to your invoice. If you choose to leave your parcel in a safe place for collection you do so at your own risk. Please make a note of this in the 'Additional Information' section of the booking form.
